Stephanie's Training - Week 15

Training Day #46 - August 30, 2010

Another Monday has rolled around and I can’t quite believe that I’ve been training for 15 weeks. I’m beginning to wonder if I reached my plateau a couple of weeks ago, because I’m feeling “sick” of running. I find it difficult to find the time and the desire, but here I am, another day, another run.

My girls had friends over today so it was not possible to run this morning, so my wonderful husband gave me a ring towards the end of his workday and asked if I wanted to workout with him. That was the motivation I needed, so off I went to the rec center.

I hopped onto the treadmill next to the bike that Shawn was using. I plugged in the “5K Loop” and began with about a 6 minute warm-up walk. I proceeded to close to 17 minutes and talked myself into a “break”. From that point on I took several quick “breaks”; but, as usual, I finished in my average time.

Training Day #47 - September 1, 2010

For my entry today, I need to give a short background of what’s been going on at my husband’s/daughter’s school.

Our community passed a bond to have MAJOR renovations done to our existing K-8 building over the summer. My husband, being the superintendent, has been handling the “ins-and-outs” of a large construction project and this week was the culmination of several things: 1) project still not complete, 2) school is supposed to start in a week, and 3) staff returns. With the return of staff comes the combined efforts of all to move an entire middle school from our gymnasium (where ALL has been stored for the summer) back into classrooms. Sound like a workout!? You bet ‘ya!

I didn’t run today, but I sure wore a hole in the concrete down the halls of Sturgeon! I couldn’t even begin to guess how many steps/miles I walked today. Volunteers worked from 8am to 3pm and some beyond that.

That should fully constitute my workout today!

Training Day #48 - September 3, 2010

I feel like I should just “copy and paste” from Wednesday’s blog. Today was a slight repeat of my previous training day. I didn’t go in to help at school until after lunch; but, I stayed until at least 4 or after. Another hard day’s work of running a dolly or carrying a box or mopping a floor……….

Is it me or are my blogs getting shorter and shorter?? Must be ready to reach September 19th.

Note: Today is a somewhat “breezy” day and I’m a wuss when it comes to cooler weather. Well, I reached in the closet to pull out a pair of jeans…..I’m feeling pretty confident with this summer’s workout regiment that they should fit a little looser!

Seriously? No extra room! I still had to “wiggle” them up my hips! Now that is just NOT encouraging. :(
